Hi guys. I'm new to this but I've finished week four, third run. But to date I've lost no weight. I'm following the SlimmingWorld program at the same time. Anyone else experience this??

Doing C25k will probably not lose you much weight. Becoming a runner with a regular exercise habit will, especially as you learn to run for longer duration. Most people notice a firming up of midriff, legs and bum and may drop a size or two during the nine weeks, but muscle weighs more than fat and in the early stages of the programme you really are not running for long enough to burn off excess calories.

All that said, if you stick with it you will be fitter and healthier....what's not to like.

YEs you wont have burned any significant amount of calories thus far, but the point is if you stick with the programme you will end up able to run 30 minutes at a time. If you do that regularly and consistently and do not compensate with post exercise calories it will contribute to your weight loss.

Your lack of progress probably has more to do with SW, in my opinion. If you seriously want to lose and maintain weight loss (or fat loss because no one wants to lose lean mass) then taking a goof hard look at what and how much you eat is the frst step use an app lie My Fitness Pal for a couple of weeks. Then identify how you can modify your diet to be healthy. Much as I dislike him, Joe Wicks has very sensible nutrition advice. Change your food lifestyle and the weight will coe off and stay off.

Have yoj tried taking measurements? You might see more results there?

Think i read somewhere that running can make your muscles retain water for a few days while they heal up, so that might be part of it too?

As it is not specifically a weight loss programme it won't necessarily help you lose weight..but as Rignold says, finish the programme. keep up with the running and other exercise... combine it with a healthy eating regime and there you are! :)

Well done for your progress so far !! :)

Week 4. I'm not surprised. You have to stick at it. Running and watching what you eat. if you carry on doing both you'll lose weight, no worries

Good luck. Have fun. This is a great programme

As misswobble and the guys say. I'm also in SW and there is a temptation to eat more after a successful running week - eeeek! However I have def lost inches, I took my measurements. Keep it up!
