Well we did it (I'm on left) and had a brilliant time with the bonus of bling at the end too! ๐ฅ
It was really cold but we soon warmed up and had to shed buff and gloves. โ๏ธ
There were about 300 runners at our event at Catton Park, Norwich. Not the best organised run and hubby ended up helping as a volunteer. Didn't really work having 5 and 10k running together. It got very confusing ๐
Anyway we did it in a cracking time for us of 68 minutes so thrilled with that. Celebrating with a nice glass of wine this evening ๐พ

Congratulations Carolyn. Well deserved and a cracking time to boot ๐ฅ
They did the combined run on my 5K Charity and I think itโll be the same for me on my 10K next Saturday, with Half Marathon Runnerโs thrown in for good measure ๐
They used the park run route which is confusing enough and some poor runners ended up doing more than the 5k they planned. Hope yours is better and good luck ๐
Whoohoo! Nicely done! Too bad about the mix-ups. At our multi-distance events they usually start with the longest to the shortest distances with a 10 minute gap or so in between so none of the 5 km folks accidentally get following a 10 km person.
The park run is confusing enough as you do a complete circle round the park, up the centre path take a right back up the centre path take a left, in a figure 8. Repeating it for 10k. So there were fast runners lapping slower runners and when they passed the finish line in 20 minutes the volunteers thought they couldn't be finished! Fortunately I did the route a couple of weeks ago so we knew what we were doing ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐
There was no slowing my friend who said she would run at my pace then went off like a rocket. I did manage to catch up with her and slow it down a bit! ๐
