just done w8r1 , it was hard but i did it , i think my body settles at 12 minutes then i realise i can run and dont need to think about it , but its a long 12 mins lol , anyway thats another week under my belt cos i struggled with last week 7 so am very happy to be here and manage this one, my ankles get quite sore after running is this quite normal ,my thighs and knees feel fine though which is quite surprising as im quite a big girl ! hopefully this will ease with more running

Well done on getting to wk 8. As I have said before to others, this is when I started to enjoy the programme. Continuous running and just adding on a bit more time each week.

As for your first 12 mins, I have something similar going on. I now run anything between 5k and half marathons, but the first mile, usually around 11 minutes is always the toughest, once I get into a rhythm and my heart rate steadies out and breathing settles, the rest of the run feels quite pleasant.

If anyone were to see me before the end of the first mile they wouldn't believe I could run for another 12.

Congratulations once again, enjoy the last 2 weeks, and the start of your life as a runner.

Wonderful!

Well done you.. and the 'toxic ten' as it is well known.. or twelve in your case.'' or 15 in mine when I started C25K !!! is something most runners have :)

Lots written about it and loads of scientific reasons why it happens.. there were a lot of posts about it a while ago.. all to do with aerobic and anaerobic exercise.. MY husband.. kept me enthralled !!! For half an hour when he explained it to me ... :)

Just keep it slow and really steady and try to keep your landing light.. :) You are doing brilliantly! The badge is off the shelf and ready for a polish!

Well done. Did W8R1 yesterday and it was my best run so far. I have all the early run doubts aswell. I try to ignore them

Very well done! You're on the home stretch and yes the first bit it always tough for me too. I haven't timed exactly how long for but at least 10 minutes.
