Mum - you are my inspiration 😘

Hi.

The picture below is me ( Mario) and my lovely mum and is one of my favourite photos of us.

Unfortunately, after a brave battle with liver cancer, my mum said goodbye on Sunday morning. My family is devastated by this, but as I mentioned in an earlier post, I had decided to run 'Race for Life' 5 km to support cancer research and will now run it in memory of my wonderful mum on 25th June.

This morning I ran 4.5 km and am on target for smashing the 5k in just over a month. I can and will do this 😊❀️😊

I am so so sorry to hear of the loss of your lovely Mum . No matter how old we are , it is such a devastating experience and it leaves such a massive hole in our lives .

What an amazing tribute to do the race in her honour . I am sure she will be beside you every step of the way .

My deepest sympathies to you and your family .

Thank you poppypug . She certainly will be with me! I'm having this picture on my tshirt 😊

I honestly don't think losing her has hit me properly yet, but I will do everything I can to deal with things with the dignity and bravery that she did, with a huge wobble from time to time 😘

What a fantastic picture, full of fun, love and joy........a thing to treasure, you'll do that run, and your mum will be with you urging you on, and having a giggle just like the photo....

Big hug πŸ€—

Oh and don't forget, we'll need a 'race' report here.....

Ps. If and when the tears come (and they will) let them come..πŸ€—

Thank you McFitty . We drove to my nephews house dressed as Mario and Luigi as he was really into games at the time. I'll never forget his face when we got out of the car πŸ˜‚

Thank you Millsie-J I have already secured over £900 for cancer research through donations for my run - my mum was a very popular lady. ❀️

Running for her ( and trying to help others who hear the dreaded news) will hopefully give me wings on the day πŸ˜‰

Hi there - so sorry for your loss - I lost my dad just five weeks ago so I know what you are going through. I thought my picture of my dad was good but this one is brilliant! I have found that running is brilliant for keeping your head straight and a week after he died I was back at Parkrun. He was a serious runner in his time so he would definitely approve. Good luck to you - you can and will do it.

mcgurranhouse - I've just seen the photo of your dad...it's amazing! Losing a parent is so hard, but it's the memories that will keep us going. Sending you much love ❀️
