Well done on starting, but how about forgetting about getting fit and losing weight for your wedding and substitute "the rest of your life" into that phrase instead. So many people here have discovered the joy of strenuous physical exercise later in life and realise how much life they have wasted.

I also observe so many young mothers taking their kids to school who are considerably overweight and feel that it is such a shame that they are doing such harm to themselves.

That's the end of my sermon. Good luck!!

Yeh it will be for the rest of my life not just for my wedding next year.

Hi and welcome. Well done on reaching Week 2

This is a great life changing journey you are starting on... and as IannodaTruffe says.. think of it as... for life:)

The programme, is not intended as a weight loss programme...Maybe take a look at Weigh Loss NHS, which many of our friends on here, post on as well :)

But, if you link a healthy eating regime with this steady and slow build up in exercise, you could see some every positive results...:)

Continue the programme, take your rest days, do other exercise on those rest days too... walking, cycling, swimming yoga..whatever you fancy. This, will help build stamina and strength.

This has to be something you really want to do...and it may not be easy, but, if you do persevere, you will feel fitter and healthier in mind and body. There is so much support on here, with advice and encouragement. We are all on this journey together, although at different stages.

So.. slow and steady, and keep posting!

Not an eating plan... I really dislike the word diet or plan.. ( I don't think anyone ever sticks to them or keeps the weight off) it is the whole way you eat... :) The Weight Loss NHS is not a forum all about plans and diets either, it is a support for anyone who like you, wants to keep the weight off and get healthier. I know so many folk on here, who really find it useful :)

The whole thing becomes a lifestyle... and with this programme and the way you do eat, it can be for life.

PS

Can also save a load by not paying Gym fees too ... :)

Good for you. Don't expect instant results though, as it is a slow and steady build to consistent running. You will have good runs and bad ones. Don't waste too much time analysing these as good or bad they all count.

If your feeling low come on here for support, and if your feeling great come on here and support others.

But as you say you have been eating healthier and you are complimenting the running with cross training which is great.

All the best for your running and your wedding!

Not what you're looking for?
