Sausage fingers

I don't have an answer but I used to get swollen hands when I walked. They swelled so much, that if I had a nick or scratch, it would crack open. Then, after changing my diet and starting this running, that problem stopped.
I would like to know why that happened too. So, following this post in case there's a good answer.

That's really interesting - Thank you

This is one of many reasons that running works better for me than brisk walking. I get very painful swollen fingers, but not when running because I hold my arms differently - bent at the elbow, fingers gently curled, all pretty loose (except when really going for it)

I get this. It is helped by wiggling my fingers and squeezing my hands into fists as I run. It doesn't last for long once I get home.

Good to know, thanks Rignold and the rest

I was going to say, low sodium so have a salty snack after running, but Rignold's article beat me to it. I first experienced this when visiting Canada in the summer aged 16, just walking not running.
