Just a few days now until my first 5K medal event. I've left it very late, but I thought I might as well run for charity. I've chosen Claire House, which helps children dealing with terminal illness. They've happily accepted me and hopefully I will be able to run in their vest if I receive it in time.

What time are you hoping for?

I got a new Parkrun PB of 26:50 on Saturday so I'm hoping to equal that or beat it if I can. I haven't run in Sefton Park for years, but I remember that it's pretty flat.

What about you?

You'll be quicker than me. My PB is 29:44 which I achieved just before Christmas. I'll be happy for something between 29-31. Looking forward to it though.I'm in the West Midlands so we'll be driving up the night before.

How did you get on?

I finished in 27:38, which I'm pleased with as it came on the back of a long drive yesterday evening. I'm from Liverpool originally but live in Edinburgh and drive down after work yesterday. An accident on the Edinburgh City bypass and a closure on the M6 meant I didn't arrive until 11pm!

I really enjoyed the event, I loved approaching the finish to the sounds of the samba drums of Batala Liverpool. It was the largest event in terms of participants I had entered, but I hope to be back next year!

How about you?

The time they texted was 30:02. Is that chip time? My husband got 24:30 and my daughter was 31:03. I'm still buzzing and don't want to take my medal off. We're on the way home to the West Midlands.

I think it's the chip time, my Map My Run app played up so I can't compare it. The medals are so cool aren't they? I live the colour of the t-shirt too, I'll be wearing it proudly the next time I go out for a run :-)

Well done and safe journey!
