Having finished wk7 this morning I'm now worrying about the extra 3 min on the wk8 runs (I worry before every run!!).
Up until now I've been running circuits of the local park. To relieve the boredom of running in circles I'd like to take Laura's advice and change my route by venturing out onto the roads but am concerned about damaging my joints on the harder surface. Please let me know what you think....

I tried to run on soft ground most of the time when I graduated and I know that my legs needed to recover from the programme because when I just ran on hard surfaces, I developed some knee issues. Rest and going back to grass running fixed it. However a year on, and due to dark winter mornings and nights I was forced to do all my running on the paths - my legs seem much stronger because no problems at all. Maybe just try and mix it up and see how your legs feel
Thanks, I've just worked out a route that would include a couple of footpaths so that would mix it up as you suggest ... just hope the footpaths are not too muddy, knowing my luck I'll end up on my backside!
