This morning I dragged my butt out the door and ran exactly 1 minute before stopping... every part of me was saying I didn't want to do that run this morning. But I kept going. 2 mins in and I felt like I was ready to cough up a lung. But I kept going. 8 minutes in I completed my first km ... slow but I was getting there. And I kept going. Then at 10 minutes the running magic kicked in and my breathing got easier and my legs found their rhythm and I started to enjoy the run ... slow and steady and I completed 7.06km in 53 minutes ... not going to win any speed awards but 53 minutes!!!! Running!!! I can't quite believe that after saying that I couldn't run in the middle of Dec that today I just ran 53 minutes. I Love C25K and this community. I wanted to share this because I know it can be hard going through the programme and there are times when you think you'll never be able to do it. I know I did. But stick with it and know even if you have a bad run there are good runs that will follow. Just keep going and you will get there.

Brilliant - sounds like you have those gremlins securely locked away and are loving your running! Good luck!πŸ™‚

Definitely loving the running but always seem to love it after the run rather than before :D

Well done Joolez, yes those gremlins can be very persistent , weve just got to squish 'em underfoot and not give 'em head space , easier said than done though ! :-)

53 minutes running is flippin' fantastic , and you should be so proud of yourself ! :-) xxx

If you were running with me you'd get a speed award!

I hate that start-10minute bit where I can feel just so uncoordinated, lungs escaping my chest, gremlins ready to halt the outing, it is just SO testing!

But yes, to know to push through helps and it does start to feel quite good some days!

Well done πŸƒπŸƒπŸƒ

That sounds like the toxic ten - I've found if I warm up properly before I start I don't get that, it's such a relief to see the back of that! Well done, it's unbelievable isn't it - what we can do with C25K?

Perfect description of the first few mins. πŸ˜† Once that first 10 mins is over it all feels more relaxed and easier.

My top tip is to start SUPER slow even though you are feeling fresh and let your body take on the oxygen it needs. I expect you know this though and 53 mins running is fantastic. Well done Joolez.😊x
