Garmin frustration

Went out for my first run this week since Sunday and for the first time my Forerunner 10 just wouldn't find a signal. How annoying! I've traced my route in Strava and managed 4.7km in about 30 mins. Oh well...not as far as I'd planned to go but I just wasn't feeling it tonight. Have a great weekend all :)

You definitely want to remain stationary. Walking shouldn't be a big deal, but the less movement the better.

If you contact Garmin support, they will likely recommend that you reset the device. It's a bit of a pain, but that does sometimes clear up problems like this.

Thanks Dave. Next time I am going to put it out in the garden while I get ready.....if I remember!

My Garmin took over five minutes to find a signal last night at about 5.30 I had to stop it and start again. I wonder if there was a glitch around then? Absolutely no idea how it works though ...

4.7 in 30 mins is good going- I'm envious ! Well done

That was the time I was out too. It usually picks it up really quickly so maybe there was something else going on. I tried stopping it and restarting but it just didn't want to play and I had limited time to wait for it to sort itself out!

Now that's the really good thing about this forum - you and I were out at the same time in different parts of the UK, and that gives a bond in a way. I like to think as I head out of the door, although I'm on my own physically, there is some from the C25k or 10k out there with me! Like knowing that whilst I was running the Resolution 5k last week in Worthing, there were others, Curlygurley, Madge and Ancient Mum in Cambridge setting out at the same time!

And when our Garmins play up, we are reassured that it happens to others, and so I can chill, knowing that its not just because I'm a teccie dinosaur!

Yes, it's good to know that we are all out there somewhere isn't it. Running together virtually if not physically :)

It's happened to me once or twice, sometimes switching it off and starting again will do the trick.
