Small steps ... Hoping for big results!

Having been told I have raised cholesterol last November, and wanting to lose weight and avoid statins, I have been given six months by my GP to make the necessary improvements. So I joined the gym and started exercise classes and swimming, and improved my diet. This has resulted in a 4 kilo weight loss, but I want more! My daughters both run half marathons, so today I started the Couch to 5K which I am doing on a treadmill at the gym for now. I am delighted to say that I enjoyed it! Watch this space ... Cholesterol blood test will be next month, so I really hope that starting this running plan will be the final element to get me back to proper weight and good health!

Good for you. Your daughters will be proud. Even if you DO end up needing medication anyway, you will still be much healthier in lots of other good ways. Keep hanging around this forum and we can cheer you on from cyberspace.

We debated this subject at some length fairly recently so you might like to have a read 🙂

Tidying up your diet and getting more exercise is always a good idea. With lighter mornings and evenings in the offing the chances for exercise are improved. Try walking more too 🙂 C25 is a bit addictive. You've been warned 😀

Well done you. My only concern is that you sound a little too keen and may be tempted to take some short cuts. Don't. Stick to the programme and in no time at all you'll be a runner :)
