The big step!!!

Just completed W3R2 and all seems Ok.

Strangely I am not a fan of Sarah but have switched to her this week and found her really good.

Looking ahead I see some big increases in run time. Any thoughts I am generally positive and determined to stagger onwards.

Just take it slow and steady, the program has been preparing your body for these increases, you now need to break the psychological barrier, that's what W5R3 does.

Just get into a nice steady pace, control your breathing and you'll be fine, trust in the program and believe in yourself, you can do this.

Let us know how you get on.

Well done!! I have also just completed W3R2 this morning 😃

Well done! Tomorrow I'll be doing the same run. Do you always take a days rest in between runs??

Always take the day off.

But take a Pilates session which I find helps with all sorts of aches and pains.

Always...that is what the programme is about... the muscles need the rest day to heal:)

Ah ok. There's a lot to learn thank goodness your all so good at giving advice!

Hi there, and well done for getting this far! First let me say "please don't worry". Because your body will gain in strength and fitness on your rest days, you may struggle to wonder how you will manage the next run.

I guess the first question is how have you felt so far? If it's been tough but manageable, which it seems to be judging by your post, then I'm sure you will be fine for the next run. You really have to trust the programme. I struggled with this exact issue earlier on and discovered that actually, I can do it, most of the battle for me was actually mental rather than physical.

Plus - what have you got to lose? The worst-case scenario is probably that you have to stop early, and try again. And remember it's not about distance or speed, it's about the time, so if you do find yourself flagging before the end of the segment, just slow down until you find a pace which is sustainable. So many times on here you'll see reference to "slow and steady". That's for a reason :)

And don't be embarassed to share your struggles here. We've all been there, trust me!

All the best for the next run :)

Neil

No problem! Please do let us know how you get on though, and if you struggle, don't hesitate to ask on here. Or just vent. Or whatever! We don't bite :) Well maybe the occasional nip :P

Positivity in your head, and steadiness in your legs... will get you there. Not much else to say!

Keep well hydrated every day. Take an extra days rest if you need it. And keep your pace nice and slow.
