Today I did my second run from week 2. Managed, wasn't as easy as the first one but done and dusted. I need to give up ciggies ( don't judge me, I have already given up pasta, rice and sweets:).
Week 2 day 2 done: Today I did my second run... - Couch to 5K
Week 2 day 2 done
No one here judges on smoking (although I think pasta, rice and sweets would be a better, even if not easier swap!) One of the reasons for this (other than it being pointless and unhelpful and we're very nice) is that we know, based on the experience of many here, that C25K can be very effective tool for giving up smoking... even if that's not why you took up running in the first place.
Well done. Just nice and slowly to tick off each run, that's all it takes.
Is that a drawing and did you do it?
Well done🎉 So far so good👍
Don't let smoking put you off! I smoke like a chimney, ( don't tell anyone, apparently being a smoker is worse than being a criminal these days🙄), love white rice and carbs❤ Sweets I can do without but give me a glass of wine 🍷 and I forget about sugar 🤔
The point is... this program works for all 😀
Don't beat yourself up about what your ' not' doing ' and celebrate what you are👍😉🌶
Oh...thank you I ordered this e-cig thing and see if it is going to work for me. It is not even about health but money lol you know word "health" is something that maybe one day will disappear, saving money is something now I keep forgetting that this forum is for "normal" couch potato's not marathon runners
Looks like you're at the same stage as me - I did my second week 2 run yesterday as well. So far so good - though my calves ache and I'm sometimes not sure I'm going to manage to finish the running sections. I gave up smoking 10 years ago, after 30 years addiction and felt so much better for it - funny I never noticed the money saved, but with 4 children at home then no doubt they benefitted! Sweet food is my downfall. As everyone says, it seems to be a case of one step at a time, so I'm sure you'll get there eventually.
People CAN run and smoke, I smoke a little, about 5 a day, and I've never found it makes any difference. I give up periodically, I just say "here's a little holiday for my lungs" and I might have as much as 3 years off, and I never feel the least bit better. Like me though, you might feel you don't want to smoke so much, and anyway smoking and running is better than smoking and no running!
I could literally never give up rice and pasta, so no judgement! Congratulations 😄👑💎
