I watched you,you inspired me

I was sat in traffic again this morning and I saw you from behind. I don't know you but I watched you. You were in bright Lycra, like many of us you were quite curvy and walking briskly. I watched in awe there you were out doing it. We were in a huge set of roadworks that are going to be there for months, you were there in all that traffic and all those work men. I watched the work men look and look again, you broke into a run. I thought I wonder if she's doing c25k. The work men watched. I crawled past you in my car, your face was red, you were puffed and had that grim face of determination. I stopped and watched you carry on. I watched other drivers watch you some staring, some looking away and thought we'll done you. You walked again. Past more workmen who spoke I don't know what they said you ignored them. I crawled past you again as you broke into another run I had to suppress the urge to get out of the car and congratulate you for what you were doing. You inspired me I came home got out the treadmill and ran, not in traffic or past workmen like you and thought of you while I ran. My feet are still sore from the sores but you told me to get on with it. I don't know you but today you made a difference to me and who knows may be some one else who sat and watched you

So all of you feeling nervous about running in public, you just have to think that people are either off in a world of their own and oblivious - or thinking "Good on you" or "That's amazing"

It really was hard not winding down the window and yelling we'll done but she did have headphones in

Good call - might just have startled her or been misheard and thus misinterpreted. Different if it is quiet and she's coming up to running past you.

I love seeing others out running it spurs me on too! Good for that lady in lycra I hope she was doing c25k (I bet she was) as she is bound to succeed.

Parkrun you are encouraged all the way round with calls of "well done" and "keep it up your doing great" .Since joining them I find myself shouting out to anyone jogging past me in the street on their daily run. Hope they dont mind.
