Can't even believe I've been able to type that title!!
Blooming weather again! Blowing a hoolie this morning, and showers in the wind so I aimed to be out and about by about 2 ish. Duly set off with Winston, and WOW, how warm was that wind? But so strong that it was knocking my feet together when I was running. Winston's ears were flapping around like a demented hen. And sometimes when it really gusted, even though I kept fighting and running, he could walk!
But, and here's the thing, I felt like I just ran today. Not giving credence to the 'Toxic Ten'. Not willing 'our Laura' to pipe up. Not thinking about how far I'd travelled. Not thinking about how far I had yet to go . Not thinking about imaginary aches and pains. Just running (slowly), and it felt great. Really great! Hips and pelvis felt quite tired, but lungs and legs were strong and willing.
I hope all my other 'virtual' running friends have/had a good 1st run, and I look forward to reading the posts...xx
PS Also shed another 2 lbs, so 13 lbs off since 2nd Jan ...xx

Sounds like you had a great run, and another 2lbs of fat gone and more than that turned into muscle! Go you! I still have my run to do but my whole week is derailed by need to look after bored 14 year old (related, but not mine) on half term (so can't leave on their own). So rather than group run tonight, I'll have to wait until my other half gets home so he can teenage sit whilst I go out.
Gawd - the gremlins have got to me already haven't they?????
Hi... I did W8R1 today also! Like you, I actually can't believe I'm at that stage... I found last week tough - I think I was trying to go too fast (which was still s...l...o...w...) and today I decided to do slow and steady again and, after the not-so-good first 12 minutes or so, I loved it! I'd love to take my dog (Golden Retriever) with me, but if she decided to stop and look at something there's no way I could budge her until she wanted to move on...
Oooooh you have a lovely dog! My Boy is a black lab and he absolutely dotes on me, and I could not not take him now because he would be so sad ! I love running with him, and after cajoling him for the last 7 weeks, now he doesn't try to stop for sniffs and wees and things once we've passed the walking stage - dogs get into a routine just like us me thinks!
Well done on today's run, slow, and even slower will get us to graduation! Two weeks away ...xx
