You just gotta do it...

I had a spot of bother with gremlins myself this morning to add to my usual pre-run faffage...

My new 'hilly' socks were in the wash so pulled my second favourite running socks out of my drawer. Put the left one on then put another left one on my right foot..oh no thats not comfy at all😯.

It seems somehow the 'spare' sock that has been hanging around on its own (haven't seen its buddy for months) had been paired up with my usual ones (can't have been me I always look for the L and the R😆)

So after looking for the Right sock in all the usual places, I put on my purple pair that only stretch up to over the heel and hardly up the ankle at all, thinking huh..this run is already doomed with these skimpy socks on.

Pulled out my Ronhill leggings and there in that drawer was my Right sock 'thats not even a sock drawer!

Is anybody still with me on this...

Eventually ready with favoirite socks in place and out the door.

Today I did another W9R3 as I quite like the music and couldn't face Stamina...

First 10 mins were fine, tiring a bit as there is a gentle incline at this point that saps energy. Then..turn slightly downhill off the main road and ease into a recovery phase. By the time I get to the staggered barrier at the muddy bit my breathing has completely settled (15 mins in says Laura) and I get thst lovely striding out relaxed feeling..life is good. Run along a lane and out onto a quiet flat residential road, still feel good..but whats this..a young girl runner is overtaking me and pulling away. Her pony tail is swishing and her stride looks longer than mine and very relaxed. I try to get the same rythmn she has but realise quickly that Im better with my short upright Laura Stepping Stones stride. Now Im feeling tireder..pony girl is dissappearing in the distance, and I still have 10 mins to go...

Round the corner and I realise that all the cars passing will have seen pony girl then me trailing in her wake. So, I imagine they think I'm her mum..and good for me for giving her my support. I run tall and soon Laura is saying 5 mins then only one minute left. I see that pony girl has turned and is now running towards me. As we pass we smile and nod. I am done but carry on for a tiny bit more back to where I started.

All in all a very satisfactory run..and well...🎵you just gotta do it, just do it...🎵

Ha, ha - strange how socks seem to disappear, but glad you found it! When I got my new shoes I also bought some proper running socks, very nice too!

Haha your faffage sounds familiar to me Jan but pleased all worked out in the end!

That was a lovely run by the sound of it and pony girl was probably thinking " That woman has a really nice style. I wish I looked like her. I'll just turn back and take another look " 🙂

Blessed, sneaky hiding socks.. I remember writing poems and stories with my children at school about the odd sock and its adventures!
