So its week 9 run 3 and I've graduated. Can't quite believe it. Back in November I could barely manage 1 minute continuous running and today I completed my 4th Parkrun.
I've reflected on my journey so far and it's clearly been a team effort.
Firstly this forum for your inspiring stories, examples and advice as well as the great admin and support work behind the scenes.
IannodaTruffe for his sage advice which I am sure has helped me avoid injury.
Special mention to Laura from the podcast who should receive a sticker every time someone graduates.
The guy in the run Swindon shop who's comment "that sock should go on your other left foot sir" was a highlight. (There are left and right socks available for running). Despite this the gait analysis and road shoes made a huge difference.
And for getting me over the line all those involved in the Parkrun movement to remind everyone that its all about participation and having a good time and not about getting a good time.
My wife would also like to thank you all for my loss of a tea tray belly and curing my snoring. perhaps TMI.
Thank you.

This is amazing really well done 🙌 that’s inspired me to keep at it, I completed week 5 run 3 the (20 min one 😱) but I did it x x many congratulations to you
A big well done to you Sir and to your team! The comments from all on here really do inspire. You will now go on to continue your running I am sure. The Parkrun bug gets you first then try a running club!
