I haven't lost anymore weight

I started working out and lost a lot of weight and changed my diet completely. But then I decided not to eat red meat and I haven't lost any weight since. Should I start eating red meat aging?

I don't think stopping or starting eating red meat will have much effect if your calorie intake is roughly the same. Weight loss can plateau but I've found that sticking with excercise and healthy eating persistently will make it come off eventually, just need to be patient!!

Hi

Are you doing C25K... or are on the weight loss programme?

Hi there, are you doing the Couch to 5k programme? This forum provides support and advice for that. It isn't a dietary advice programme.

As for losing weight, it's very simple, you need to eat a healthy diet and move more, whether you choose to eat red meat is up to your own personal preference. There is lots of healthy eating advice throughout the media, internet etc.,

Good luck with your goals.

Red meat is good for you, but as with all things, in moderation. If,you stick to a healthy diet and maintain your exercise then you will continue to lose weight. It takes time though. For weight loss to be sustainable you have to eat sensibly the whole time. No need for crash diets etc. Eating healthily and cutting down on alcohol will see your weight come down. How could it not Your body gets used to the same foods and the same level of exercise so you have to be prepared to mix things up. If my weight sticks I change my menu for a completely different one for a week

As you don't mention anything to do with running I think you might well be in the wrong Forum which in my relatively short experience with Healthunlocked is not an unusual occurrence. However, leaving that aside, the other people who responded are quite right - balance rather than total abstinence is the key to a good diet.

In my case, I'm trying to reduce my alcohol intake but even after three months I've not completely stopped, just gradually reduced it over that time to what is generally considered to be an acceptable level. My GP told me that if I'd gone "Cold Turkey" I'd have probably ended up in hospital.

My mantra is "never say "never", never say "always" and moderation in everything". If only I'd managed to get to grips with that concept before I hit 60! :-)
