W5R1 - Laura - a word in your shell-like

I had planned to run this evening. But life and ill-health intervened and my duties as emergency child-care provider were needed. So at short notice I downed a strong black coffee, kitted up and set off. Had forgotten to double up on the running top as I usually do and the gremlins were urging me to go back home; strangely my ears were cold - and they're never cold. Brisk warm-up over, I set off jogging. When Laura piped up part way through, I was slightly demoralised when she said I was only half way through the run - Laura, might I suggest that it would be better for my morale if you waited just 30 seconds more so you could give me the good news that I was more than half way through??? This would have been especially helpful during the last 5 minute run, slogging up-hill, with the world and his dog (special mention to the dog-walker who extended her dog's lead and allowed it to run across in front of me forcing me on to the road) doing all that they could to interrupt my tired stride. My legs felt like lead today. But at least it wasn't raining. Am I looking forward to Wednesday's run? Hmm, the gremlins say no .. .

You've just given me a reason to be pleased that I didn't quite make it in my W5R1 today, didn't manage to finish the third run ... at least it doed mean is that will be a little bit longer before even more W5 palpitations start for me. I'll get there though, so if you hear someone plodding after you it will probably be me. WELL DONE you W5'ers

Well done. Pesky dog walkers can be tricky, you managed to get round them though. This running lark can be a bit of an obstacle course sometimes. it seems x

Well done for getting out there! Why is it that the more tired we are, the more obstacles (dogs, pushchairs, small children.....) appear!!😊🏃

Ha, that Laura throwing out encouraging words at the wrong moment 😆...

Stick with her though..she does have something great to tell you soon. *Its a fist pump moment*

You did that run even though you felt cold and tired..so rest up and get ready for R2.

Good luck😊onwards and upwards.

Yeah, that Laura comes across all nicey, nicey but is actually quite nasty.

You do know that she is stuffing her face with cake and laughing at the same time as inflicting that music on you, right?
