just a quickie about music before I do my run later. I find that I run better if something makes me laugh or makes the running seem more fun and/or inspiring.
Weirdly enough, I don't know why this band never came to mind before, but Right Said Fred have been added to my jogging songs. Firstly 'I'm Too Sexy' because naturally, on this site, we're all just too damned sexy when we're red-faced, worn out and breathing hard from running like lunatics around our chosen places, and I also added a little victory song in the shape of 'Stand Up for the Champions' for when the run's over and i'm doing my cool down walk.
So, I'll let you all know how I got on later.

It would be great to have a playlist of funny running songs. That Right Said Fred one would be a good one certainly.
I remember bursting out laughing on the treadmill when I was doing C25k and Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" came on my ipod with the lyrics: "I'm trav'ling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic woman of you". Travelling supersonically at the speed of light I most certainly wasn't! I could have walked faster...
You've given me the notion of looking out funny songs to run to - I just love that idea. Right now I have two running lists, one is mostly Abba songs, always thought they were great to do housework to, and the other is Celtic Music. So a third one of funny songs is my next project
I am with you... I take ABBA out a lot, they are super to run to. Mama Mia has some great tracks to run to as well I did a post where I rewrote the words to Chiquitita.... all about my knees!!!
I'm too Sexy is a great one to run to...has a good pace, I have run to that..
As time goes on, you may find yourself running to all sorts of songs that please you.. and you suddenly discover they are great for different types of runs...e.g. I use ABBA's Chiquitita... the verse and the chorus have different timing and are great for intervals!
I love the idea of the victory song... great to help you finish in style! Go you!!!
PS
I think 'I'm too sexy', is very suitable.. speaking for myself anyway.. I know after my run I am 'hot' !!!
My first playlist which got me through C25k was made up for me by my teenage daughter as I didn't know how to do it. Anyway, she picked the tunes and I didn't know some of them.
Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" was on it.
As I was losing weight as well as doing the program, I found the lyrics very motivational. It was only later that I found out she isn't actually singing "I ain't no Harlem fat girl"...
