Loads of us.. absolutely loads..but.. you can do this.. yes you can!

Slow and steady...really slow..slower than a snail on a go slow... gentle jog.. arms and shoulders relaxed.

Count your steps.. 1,2,3,4, 1,2,3,4.. say to yourself..say to yourself, I'll just run to the corner, the lamppost, the tree, just run to the next tree.. think of how good you feel... look at things... say a poem in your head... anything to take your mind off time...

Think of this mad Oldfloss... you will finish the run in style! I will be watching for your post!

Go for it! x

I know what you mean about feeling scared (and I've done the plan several times over the past four years!). But thousands, absolutely thousands of people have done this plan before you, and it works. If you've completed week 2 properly, you're ready for week 3... You can do it! :)

Felt the same? Every run! Slow, slow slow is the way to go. If you've run week 2 then you should be fine. If you feel yourself tiring or getting breathless, slow down. You really can do it, you just need to let yourself believe it! Good luck 😊

I used the same strategy as Oldfloss - I set my goals on different inanimate objects along the run until Laura told me that I could recover. After that I generally told her off because I was convinced that she had deliberately played for time. The challenge is to shut up that little voice telling you that you can't do it - we are all our worse enemies when it comes to believing in our own potential. There's a great quote by Marianne Williamson about that - my favourite line is: "We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?" I hope that you are out running as I type, and I look forward to reading your report!

It's part of a text that I really do think makes sense. Google it and tell me what you think.

Bless you, trust the programme, it worked for us. Have a good warm up walk, breathe slowly and deeply to get the osygen circulating. Slow down even more because that will help you to do the time, it is not a race. You can do it, relax your legs as you run

I did it! Oldfloss I counted my steps and set myself goals, run to the bin, now run to the tree and it really really helped after the three mins was up I looked back and was amazed with the distance that I has jogged, me, someone that could not run for 30 seconds. WOW I am in shock and even better I am really enjoying this programme.

Ultimately my aim is to be fitter but wouldn't say no to a bit of weight loss haha.

I want to say thank you so much to you all for your kind words as I read them all just before I set out and it just gave me that extra push and determination. It's so encouraging to hear that you felt like this as it gives me the positivity to continue. Another great thing is whilst I'm doing the run I think about all your words and coming back and writing my next post.

Thank you everyone. 👍👍

There is never any need to fear any of the runs. YOU are in control. If you do not complete a run, simply repeat it, then, when completed, you are ready to move on.

Believe in yourself. Believe in the programme. Keep running, keep smiling.

Well done Sazzlex, I felt the same before I went out for W3R1 yesterday.. Really thought I was going to struggle badly. It wasn't easy by any means but I did it. It's amazing how far we've come in a short time. Good luck on the next run x

Don't be scared; be positive! You can do it. It's amazing how 3 minutes becomes the longest period of time! Think how quickly 3 minutes goes in normal life. It actually gives you a chance to make the most of 3 minutes. It's 3 minutes of the day that you can take in your surroundings, concentrate on your breathing and know you are doing something for you.

Oh well done you!

To be honest I found every week of the plan hard and tended to think I was about to die the whole time! But it's a brilliantly designed plan and the pace of progress is very doable, as you're finding out. :)

I find having music on helps, as the time goes by quicker. Had to run without music this morning (technology and me don't work) and the time dragged by.

I too was rather concerned about going from running 90 secs to 3mins in one go...but I did first one this morning!! Love having Michael Johnson talking me through each stage....onwards and upwards!!

Me too - he’s great, although I’m convinced he can’t count because this week I’ve experienced some of the longest minutes and a half in my life! 😝

Yes just posted about this. I nearly quit. Felt hard to push through this one. I found it hard too but maybe not as hard as that first ever W1 run at the start. Remember you’ve completed that. That helped me as I headed out. Good luck.
