This morning the spaniels decided I needed to be up extra early. Taking the bull by the horns I decided to head out and start Week 3 straight away. First time I've ventured out while it was still dark! not having anything with lights on I remembered some magnetic reflective thingys that were being handed out free up in town at Xmas and slapped them on my ankles. Better than nothing I thought.
I then headed out of the door and straight into my warmup. Not worrying this time what the neighbours would think. Then I decided to try a hill as part of my route - gulp Half way up the said hill Laura told me to start my first 90 second run OMW poor legs. One thing for sure no worries about trying to go too fast lol. But I made it, slow and steady. The nearer the top I got the easier it felt. Thankfully the rest of the route was relatively flat or a slight decline. I was happily surprised that the 3 minute runs were no where near as bad as I had feared, having said to hubby that I might need oxygen when I got home. Fingers crossed R2 and 3 go as well.
Seems I must be improving in my stamina somewhere along the line

Most of us, acquire it.. blinking hills everywhere!
You take it slow and steady and they do get easier, honestly
Your stamina and strength are improving each time you head out.. and some strength and flex exercises on your rest days will help too.. I used the ones linked to this site.. still use them, occasionally!
Great stuff - well done! Lots of people do find it best to get their run done first thing in the morning to set them up for the day (I'm not one of them - afternoons or evenings for me, please!)
Well done for tackling the hill - a few more weeks and you'll be running right up it and wondering why you ever worried
lol erm ok that will be one monumental day Must admit so far I'm preferring the morning runs, but I know that's not always going to be possible. Will take each day as it comes x
You will! Just go nice and slowly. You can warm up indoors before starting the brisk warm up walk, so you are well warmed up before hitting the street 🙂
