Happy with this had physio last week about calf muscle and he advised no longer than 3.5 miles so did another 5k today ππ felt good but I always struggle getting going lol anyone else like this once I get past 1/2 a mile I'm ok π
First one this week: Happy with this had physio... - Couch to 5K
First one this week
The first 8 minutes or so are always worst for me. Once I get close to ten, the next ten or so are generally ok, before I start getting tired. But I'm some way off being able to run 5k at all yet, let along cutting back to that sort of distance
I still sometimes have trouble getting going for the first few minutes. Then I feel really stupid when especially after my last 2 runs have gone well !!
Think it's understandable with sharp changes in weather. Last week nearly doing splits on patch of ice. This morning looked really windy. Though live at top of hill and when got to bottom on run by lake and canal it wasn't so bad. Even run in rain and not had problems.
Don't think those gremlins will ever stop bugging us !!
I wonder if Mo Farah gets them ?
First 10-15 minutes for me. After that, the next 10-15 are good and then the gremlins jump on and I start getting tired! It's apparently normal for the first 5-10 min to be tougher as it takes time for the oxygen to get to the muscles that need it.
I've heard a lot of people say that it takes a while to get into a steady pace. Looks like a lovely running route along the river!
I'm getting used to the route now and it's nice not too much traffic and it leads onto a cycle route which is nice
Im starting at beginners club next Monday so hope that I keep going as I have as I do like running and cycling to ππ
