I'll admit, when I saw I had to run for 3 whole entire minutes (!) I thought that, far from being thought up by the NHS and BBC, this programme had, in fact, been thought up by a group of sadists! There was no way in the ever living hell I, chronically unsporty and decidedly NOT the athletic type (you can ask my former school sports teachers for confirmation on this) could run for 3 minutes without stopping, slowing down or falling flat on my face.
But the dreaded 3 minutes came...and went by surprisingly quickly. I couldn't believe it when, at the very second I checked my phone (expecting to see I was only 20 seconds in) Sarah Millican piped up with 'You're halfway through your first 3 minutes. keep it up! You're almost there!' and so I kept going. Never been so glad to hear I could slow down for a walk in my life, but found it wasn't as bad as I thought.
Mam joined me at my preferred place of the local park and, whilst she's not as in love with it as a running place as I am, she does concede that being hillier and not set in a direct line is good for varying the running route and the hillier bits get your heart rate going. Sadly didn't get to use the machinery for my cool down as I have to get to work and it started to rain again.
Bring on the next 2 days!
