Slipping and sliding everywhere this morning in the fog and frost! My trainers have no grip; not sure they are even the right sort for running, but got me through Couch25K in spring, summer and autumn. Any advice on suitable trainers?
Happy New Year one and all!

If you haven't already done so go to a running shop as they will check your gait on the treadmill. From this you can select appropriate trainers for your gait. The type of trainers will depend on what surface you run on. If mainly tarmac etc then normal running trainers are fine. If you are on grass or trails then trail trainers will give more grip. If running on ice then I suggest some ice skates or a cuppa until the ground thaws!
I attempted to run in my trail shoes last night, thinking they would afford extra grip on the icy streets. They didn't.
Time to dig out my ice grabbers from Bettaware. YAk Trax are used by folks here. There are loads of threads on this subject 😀
Someone mentioned running in Norway last week and what they use for winter running. Forget the name of the shoe now. Someone will be along in a minute with the answer 🙂
