5K Challenge π
Welcome and well done! I'm not much younger than you and 2016 saw me lose three stone and complete "Couch to 5k" and "Bridge to 10k". I had been on the couch for fifty years so would never have believed that possible. So if I can do it, so can you. All the blessed. x
Sugarplum16 - welcome to Couch 2 5K.
This board is a great place to receive encouragement and support they are a great bunch of people.
I started Couch 2 5 k in early 2016 and haven't looked back graduated and between the running and changing my diet have lost over 3.5 stone with just a couple of stones to go till I get to a weight I will be happy with.
Keeps us updated with your progress

Hi Sugarplum and well done for signing up. I am the same age as you and have 2 stone to lose. I joined yesterday morning, went for for first walk/run in the afternoon & thoroughly enjoyed it. The program is excellent and the support & encouragementioned from this forum is second to none. Good luck for your first day.
That's fantastic! Well done you, I look forward to hearing more from you and updating on my progress. We can do this!
Well done for signing up. Take it slowly and you will be fine. I have just finished the programme and really enjoyed the sense of achievement gained from completing each week ( or stage - doesn't matter if it takes longer than a week).
Enjoy your first session tomorrow!
You will love it! Good luck with losing weight and getting fit! ππ½ππ½ππ½

Welcome to the highly addictive world of running I graduated from the programme nearly a year ago and running has really become a part of my life. I was 49 when I started the C25K. It wasn't always easy but I got a tremendous buzz after each run, those feel good endorphins are a gift and they will get you through. There's no reason why you should not succeed with both running and weight loss. Be positive about it and persevere. I am sure you can do it and now is a great time of the year to get cracking.
Good luck! I started in Oct and graduated 2 weeks ago. Everyone has been very supportive and encouraging. Ran my 1st 5k last week!
Good luck! And a huge well done for taking the leap
Welcome. The hardest part is getting out and starting. Everyone here will support you. Just take it slow and steady and trust the programme.
hi sugarplum - welcome to the mad house. I joined at the beginning of September - not being able to walk 5 mins without being out of breath - but trusted the programme and followed it to the letter and pleased to say that I've graduated and managed to run 5k!! Coupled with healthy eating I've lost to date 1 stone 11lb. I had an injury to my knee recently and was unable to run for a few weeks but I'm now slowly building up strength and don't think it'll be too long until I'm back to full fitness.
Check in here as often as you can - other people's tips and support will mean the difference between achieving and just getting by. There's always someone on here that can offer you that life line and encouragement just when you doubt that you can and before you know it you have.
Best of luck - looking forward to hearing about your progress x
Am looking loss about 3 stone
