Following on from my earlier post, we now have around two dozen forum members who will run their local Parkrun on Christmas Eve, as part of the forum virtual team.
The aim of the virtual team is to heighten awareness of this great programme and forum. But importantly it is to support those on this forum who are keen but nervous about running their first Parkrun, by knowing they are supported by the wider virtual team running at the same time. You never run alone on this forum!
All graduates are welcome to join in, the more the merrier! All that's needed is to pledge to run your chosen Parkrun on Christmas Eve, and then run it! Let us know via this post or my previous if you wish to join in so we know intended numbers. Tell the forum when you have run it, and then enjoy your virtual mince pie and mulled wine.....alcohol free also available π. Photos welcomed!
RunaroundSue is happy to compile a post-run report for the Parkrun regular bulletin to celebrate our efforts. She has already been in touch to let Parkrun know our plans. Sue will collate numbers and compile a report to send to Parkrun. You can save the above image, print off and use in your post-run photo should you wish. One or two of these may be used in the report so please let us know when you post if you prefer yours not to be included.
I have uploaded this on to C25K and B210k as we would like not just first time Parkrunners, but also our seasoned regular Parkrunner members to have the opportunity to be part of the virtual team if they wish to. Apologies if you have double read.
RFC is organising a virtual xmas run for those forum members not yet ready for a 5k or unable to run on the day, so virtual runs all around! She has kindly pinned the previous post for the Christmas Parkrun for ease of access.
Thank you for reading this post.
Happy running.

No parkruns near me unfortunately but would like to join in another virtual run! Will look out for RFC's post. Best of luck to everyone running a Christmas Eve parkrun
"Hi Sue, thanks for getting in touch, sounds like a great initiative to get people moving!
Due to the number of requests we receive each day to promote different initiatives through our national social media channels we don't do this, but I am happy to include this text in our Feedback section in this week's newsletter if you like? And we'd be happy to do so again with a photo after the Christmas parkruns. Just let me know.
Also, re the flyer, just to point out that the organisation you've referenced on there is actually a different organisation to us ('Park Run' is something completely different). We are parkrun (one word, lower case).
Hope this helps."
I will change the photo to correct it and send it in later.
He has confirmed we will be mentioned in the next newsletter , so look out for it
I will be at Marple. Any new runners, don't hesitate, I will be the tailrunner that day so you should be able to find me easily (I will be trying to keep up, probably )
