The C25K Christmas Virtual Run

It is that time of year again when we roll out the virtual run. This one is in addition to the Virtual parkrun that is going on.

Its a simple idea, over the two week period that is Christmas you signup for as many runs as you would like to be doing over the time frame

24 December - 7th January

If your going through the program just stick to which ever runs would be your next ones. Even if you've not started yet and are waiting for the New Year you can join in with a few walks, If your on the Injury Couch why not do a few walks as well if your able. Don't worry even if you can not walk or run think of something positive you would like to be doing to help keep your motivation going over the Christmas period even if its answer so many posts a week to help others when they are struggling.

Basically there is something for everyone.

My commitment is two runs a week, Busy times here, and to make one of them on Boxing Day. So anything over that is a bonus.

Have a think about it all and post here what you have decided is right for you to commit to over this period. make it manageable and keep some fun in there too.

Wishing you all an happy healthy time.

Hi

Well I will be doing the south Manchester Christmas Day park run , and hope to do another 10 k sometime within the bank holiday period ( I will work some of it ) I want to keep to my 3 runs a week for both weeks, although a busy time I need the solitude of my runs to maintain my sanity ,!

I will aim for three runs each week, starting with the christmas eve virtual team parkrun. There are just over 40 forum members who have committed to run!

Like you RFC , I shall commit to twice a week - -any more will be a bonus as we have a series of guests expected. I might manage to get some of them out with me as well.

I'm committing to two runs per week over the Christmas period and as said anything else will be a bonus.

Thanks for this RFC!

I will be running every other day as per usual. Like Mollydex I have to run for sanity's sake. I have people descending on me and staying -which I'd not bargained for - including two very young children. My runs are going to enable me to stay sane. When the going gets tough, Wobble goes for a run.

Yep I'm in ! I am following my HM plan, and doing a parkrun on Christmas Eve too. So I will be doing a minimum of 2 a week possibly 3 at a push :-)

Thanks for this, RFC :-) xxx

Three runs a week would make me very happy. I'll shoot for that.

I'm so glad you posted this! I did wk6r3 earlier this week and have been on track to graduate on Christmas eve parkrun, only to get another horrible chesty cough and cold. Haven't been out for a run since Monday and felt really flat about my plan going pear shaped :(

I'm signing up to graduate c25k by 7th Jan :)

Thank you!

*edit* will redo wk6 and complete wk7 by 7th :)

Yay count me in please. As I'm off work for some of it I'm aiming to go out everyday. I love to run in the woods on Christmas morning with a bit of foliage in my hair... enjoy the opportunity to get out guys 😎

I'm planning to do it! It will either be my first or second park run, depending on how I get on this week. (And unlike my local park, it will flat!)

Hi everyone. Great idea and I would love to join in. I'm not brave enough for a real parkrun, but I'm really glad I can run virtually with you all. I will commit to 3 runs per week over the Christmas period. Happy Christmas running everyone!

My normal 3/4 per week. Perhaps that week will be the one I get to see the weird chalk pits I've been waffling on about for ever!

Oh, and parkrun Christmas eve...

Thanks RFC, I hope to run at least twice a week over the festive period (as required by my current 10k plan) although 3 times a week would definitely be better. Will aim for the Christmas Eve Parkrun as don't think the family will take kindly to be zooming off to do the Christmas Day one!!

I hope to do at least 2 a week over the festive period, and may even slot in another Parkrun if I have time. 🎄 🎅

Well my asics plan is giving me 7 runs, realistically 4 should be ok but the other three might not happen because of travelling. If I can run they will probably be shorter than scheduled.

I would love to do at least runs a week till January, currently in the process of doing up a house we're supposed to be moving into, so I'm literally all over the place. Will try and put some regularity back into the week amidst all the decorating!

Two runs a week for me, and hopefully one of them will be the New Years Eve parkrun. Hopefully it will counteract some of the Christmas excess!

Hi, please count me in! I aim to do three runs each week, and to walk my step count each day, even though I will have small children at home and they are sometimes homebodies!

I also aim to spend some time on the forum! I have only had the time to pop in for the challenge once a week, and I need to get to know to know some of the newer folks.

I also aim to set some running goals for next year. This year I will fall short of my kilometer goal (800) by about forty, which is heartbreaking! I need to think about what to aim for next year.

I'm doing a park run tomorrow Saturday 17th. Not technically in the period from24th . I will take my Xmas C25K poster with me anyway and get a picture and do a post.

Have to work Saturdays so had to book Day off. Looking forward to it.

Just a bit nervous about the virtual parkrun on Saturday, it being my first & having seen the forecast. Still, it's all experience :-D

It's my first one tomorrow too, and my graduate run, but I am quite excited. I did a Santa Run two weeks ago and it was great - I am sure you will be fine!

I am hoping to graduate tomorrow at the virtual park run! And then commit to two runs per week or possibly three but shorter ones...
