Only one week to go!

Completed week 8 today, mapmyrun tells me I did 3.3Km in 28 mins, so I will be nowhere near 4K let alone 5K by the when I graduate. That goal still seems a long long way off...

The goal is an additional 2 minutes ! That doesnt sound a long way off to me. You are so close. Remember although the name is C25K the real aim is to be able to run for 30 minutes. Distance is irrelevant.Think of how far you have come from setting out to run 1 minute intervals. You have done amazing and enjoy being so close to completing the programme. Every run is a success and 30 min runs are on your door step. That is success !

The goal is 30 minutes.

My first 5k was 37 minutes, it took me another 6 months to break 5k in 30 mins but you will get there :-)

Thanks, the 30 minute goal is definitely in site, it was not being near to 4K that felt a bit disappointing.

I was exactly the same. Get to thirty minutes and then work on the distance slowly in the weeks after that. You will feel great when you stretch to 30 minutes- congrats! Well done.

Achieve your goal, running for 30 mins......,you are so close you are definitely going to do it!

Many, infact most of us on this forum graduate without covering 5k , thats fine! It will come with time and practice ! Parkrun is a good next step following graduation, you can run/ walk to build the distance if it helps!

I was covering about same as you at graduation mid sept but am now training for my first 10k! Remember- slow and steady at all times 👍🏼🏃🏻‍♀️

I was thinking that parkrun might be a good next aim, thank you for your comments

What??? You only ran two miles!!!!! So what's the problem?

That struck a chord with me - I can actually run for 2 miles!! that is amazing thank you for pointing that out. As an oldie I do think of distances in miles rather than kilometres and 2 miles is a long way to keep running for!!

You said it. Well done!

Keep running, keep smiling.

I'm exactly the same as you, almost to the metre, so I am having to make a conscious choice to just think time and not distance or else it would affect my performance. Keep going - we will get there together!
