So I went out this morning with Laura on the Stamina podcast. I did put together a running podcast for myself of favourite upbeat tracks, but I've decided I'm not ready to let go of Laura yet - I like her encouragement. Off up the road to the next village, down past a mill house and along an isolated river path. Then I took a sideways bridle path, which was lovely, but it brought me out into a cow pasture - extremely muddy. I have walked this way before, in the other direction, with sturdy walking boots. This was a challenge today! Avoided the cattle, then skirted round the edge of a field (uphill) back home. Was slightly disappointed to find it was only 3.5k! Left very muddy, leafy trainers outside and sank into lovely bath! I am aiming to do Parkrun on Saturday, it will be my second, just hope I can do the full 5k.

Oh very well done Joy57 . I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to leave Laura just yet. I'm listening to an American chap at the moment in Bridge to 10k and it's just not the same. Muddy field and uphill too, that's a great workout. Happy running 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️👏🏻👏🏻😀😀

You can 😊 These tough, outdoor trail runs, with heavy going, will get you fitter and stronger in your core. such running really engages your abs, as you pull yourself up the terrain. Good fun too ☺ Well done!

When you come to run on the flat you will find it easier

To manage Stamina, which in my book is fast, in a muddy field, takes some doing. Hats off to you! I'm sure you will be fine on Saturday. At least there you will be on slightly firmer ground!

Sounds like a great adventure Joy. I love running on tracks I've never been on before, it keeps it fresh.

Hey well done, sounds like a fab run. I love running outdoors on trails, even if I do end up covered in mud! Sounds like just what you needed before your park run - don't forget to let us know how you get on :-)
