Week 7 Done & Dusted!

Thanks to everyone for their advice about ploughing through the slog of the second 25 minute run in week 7. Did the third run tonight and was dreading it to be honest. Did some positive self talk and got on with it and it felt pretty damn good if I'm being honest. Thanks for the support and wisdom!

Well done. I did my second run tonight and hope to get W7 finished on Sunday.

I thought I had really gone for it tonight; wore shorts instead of Tracky bottoms thinking it may help. My legs were fine but my hands were frozen. Somehow Strava decided My pace was 0.1 slower! Oh well move on. Really enjoyed it despite feeling my breathing was a bit laboured, but recovered really quickly once I'd finished. Goes to show the program's working.

Well done! I was wondering how you got on and am glad you went out and nailed it! Feels good doesn't it?

I completed my Wk7R3 yesterday morning but think I sprained my left ankle a little and was already dealing with a sore calf muscle on the right! Not sure what to do now as don't want to aggravate them any further. Suffice to say I am hobbling along at the moment! My big challenge is the hill in my park that is also part of the park run route that I want to do once I graduate. It's 3 laps and I can only bear doing it twice! Will get there though!

Oooft, it's challenging enough without injuries! Best to rest up and miss a few days than risk missing longer with a more serious injury. Hope you're back on form ASAP!

Thanks. The overwhelming advice is to rest up for now, avoid hills until after graduation, take it slow, and do warm down stretches as soon as the run is over - the warm down walk is not enough!

Good luck with the start of your Wk8 - let us know how you get on! x
