Today Fazzical and I completed our first ever charity run, in fact our first very public run and IT WAS AMAZING!! We navigated all the twists and turns, dodged people and bicycles without mishap, no mean feat when one of you cannot see where they are going! Everyone was brilliant and it was great to meet up with McFitty and her lovely son. Although it appears I actually said out loud we would do the 10k next year π±π±π±
Thank you Ullyrunner for telling us about this brilliant event and if anyone is looking for a challenge with a difference next year I can't recommend this enough. Check out the link below if you want to see more.
Oh and the real bonus we got bling- never had a medal before - I'm sleeping in it tonight ππ
Ps. I showed my mum all your lovely replies to my post this morning. She doesn't know what all the fuss is about and doesn't think she is doing anything special π

You're either wearing a quilt or you took the bling off for a few seconds Wasn't it just the most fabulous, fabulous day? You DID say it out loud too - see you next year (although hopefully before)
Brilliant effort - well done both of you - and such a worthwhile cause.
The lovely daughter, her partner and two of her colleagues at the charity were also running and said they had a lot of fun - they were buzzing! Glad you met Mcfitty - it must be so nice to meet other forumites in the flesh!
It was indeed lovely to meet McFitty . I know what your daughter means about the day, we were flying till we went to bed despite being very tired. Everyone from the charity were really lovely too. As I said I can't recommend this enough for anyone looking for an event to join with. It really doesn't matter if you can't run 5k either. You find you have to walk at times to avoid bumping into people and obstacles anyway. You really could do this one at any stage in your C25K journey. It's brilliant.
