Well that was...ok. It turns out five minutes is tough but do-able. I walked up to the park before turning on the podcast, and the extra ten minutes or so that gave me seemed to help me loosen up. I wasn't having to run with stiff legs anyway.
But good grief, that second five minutes...! my breathing went, my legs got really heavy and I was very, um, "glowing" by the end...and looked like a jogging lobster no doubt.
Fortunately there were squirrels to entertain me on the last minute, zig zagging along in front of me, the show -offs🐿🐿😀. A very timely distraction, but I'm sure they were laughing at me!
So,I am elated I managed it, as I would not have been able to just two or three weeks ago. But I am hoping it gets a bit easier before next week.
Sufficient unto the day and all that, so although I know what happens at the end of next week, I am just thinking rabbits rabbits rabbits anytime I hear the words " week five" or , whisper, "twenty"...
Hope everyone who ran today had a good one!

Well done on completing your first run of week 4. Just a few more runs and you'll soon be attempting err...the one I done today!
I also felt like you on week 4 with heavy legs but if you keep successfully completing these runs you will be fine. I'm sure you will.
I'm not saying it's going to be easy because it really isn't, but it *is* doable and at the end of the day it needs to be challenging and difficult, and it needs to stretch you to your limits (and a bit beyond) because that's how you improve your fitness in order to carry on to the next one.
If I could give anyone advice at this point in time, (given that I'm still only a novice at this myself) and that advice would be to give yourself 2 rest days between runs when you get to week 5. That's exactly what I did, and I really think that helped my body heal sufficiently. I don't think I ever got back to 100% after having just the 1 rest day before running again. Which is fine when you're running less than 5 minutes, but attempting to run twice as much, you really need to be 100%.
All the best for completing this week 4 and moving onto week 5.
