Ice cream and a movie is my vice Mind you - since getting more and more involved in the programme and with the support of this Forum I now find I do it less and less I just feel so much better overall I don't need the 'comfort' food substitutes
Welcome and well done on getting the first week ticked off. You'll probably fnd that the further into the programme you go you'll become more aware of what you eat and drink and therefore you'll want to drink less. Maybe try keeping the wine for the weekend and watching a great film as your reward for completing each run 🙂
Well done. We all have our vices. Mine is Ice Cream but manage to keep it to a treat at weekends. As others have said the great feeling of physical and mental wellbeing and sense of achievement will help with the cravings.
In my case having a health warning wake up call was the incentive. Also when I started I wasn;t sure but the weight loss and flattering comments about how well I look also helps.
Also when running I sometimes think "Why am I doing this ?" Then I also think apart form missing the "Stroking of my Ego with the flattering comments" , I also think "If I gave it up could I really give up the benefits and could I face the shame of telling those I know that I chickened out".
Getting support from this forum has really helped.
@Jopublic. I echo that shame feeling. I've only told a few people I'm doing this programme and but they'll be the sort to ask "How's the running going?". And, yep, the support here is nothing short of staggering ....
Hi @DekeBrodie, I share your passion for wine but thus far consumption has not dropped and I've just finished W7R1 BUT I'm feeling miles better in myself, both mentally and physically.
Every run is difficult, it is honestly, but the programme is paced really well so at no point have I felt so knackered that I cannot finish the schedule for the day. It's the warm down walk I struggle with!
