Did anyone form a mental image of Laura as they ran? What was yours?

It amused my chums and me to think of her as someone who was recording the thing whilst watching telly, smoking and eating junk food, having never run in her life.

I thought of her sitting on a couch reading a magazine with a massive G & T and her feet up , just occasionally stopping drinking enough to say " Youre doing great, not long to go now, keep going ! " Hic !

Ahem!....My Laura is a nicely NOT-A-STICK INSECT- BUILt black leather clad, brunette Runner Lady with a wonderful sense of humour and who runs at only a LITTLE bit faster and further than I do and who urges me on and delights in my improvement.

Think Emma Peel with a few more pounds on her and a less sardonic sense of humour

I LOVED Emma Peel. So much so that my mum made me a black thingymejig like hers only mine wasn't leather and didn't stretch so when I tried to do a high kick, I split the seam! Aw, happy memories 🤗

That whole series was so much fun - not one drop of blood, not one cuss word, not one bare anything that should not be bare...and is, and will be, remembered long after the lousy dross they shove at us now. This is why I actually haven't had a Telly in almost twenty five years now, apart from having it hooked up to Netflix though I use the DVD and VCR (yes children - there really WERE things called VCR's! ) and basically look for the older movies

Yes, my Laura is exactly like that Kate Lawler that won Big Brother many moons ago. You know, that blond, girl bubbly with a wcked sense of humour and full of fun.

I have seen a video of THE Laura on here somewhere too. She seemed really nice and normal..xx

I feel bad now! She looks lovely and is not worthy of my mockery, even if it did get us through some tough runs to conjure up the image we did.

Actually, when I was going through the C25k I didn't have a personal relationship with her at all as my wonky old phone wouldn't take the app. But I did some of the runs with friends who were also doing the program and they would tell me about "Lovely Laura" and what she was saying.

She must feel so proud about all the people she's helped.
