I'd like to say it was as a result of Ju-ju's lovely ideas posted the other day, but the honest truth is my Garmin just wouldn't lock on to a satellite today, so I decided to just try and enjoy an untimed run around one of my trail routes, which I know is about 6k. What a lovely run and just what I needed - it is ages since I have run without looking at time, distance or pace - we do become slaves to our sports watches, I think! Overcast, with just a sniff of a breeze meant it felt cooler than of late and I really enjoyed running for running's sake with just 'Florence and the Machine' to keep me company as I followed my meandering footpaths and bridleways. Managed a bit of steady hill work too - all good. The overgrown hedgerows of just a few weeks ago are now starting to look very tired; summer is fading and Autumn waits just off stage, ready for her spectacular performance to begin! Lots of blackberries ready to be picked now, I noticed, so will try and pop back over the weekend. Blackberry and apple crumble on Sunday I think!π Happy running this weekend to everyone!π
A no pressure, Garmin-free run day...π³πππ»π³ - Couch to 5K

What a lovely run. We picked our first blackberries last weekend and had them on our breakfast Monday morning they are very good this year, plump and sweet. Did you run without music too - I think that's one of my gremlins - fear of silent running π
No, I listened to music - love music on a run, although I have run without it too, on occasion. I prefer a tune!!
What a great post and really inspiring - I am just about to complete C25k and still finding most runs such hard work and I am so looking forward to the time when I'll just get out there and enjoy it - I know it will come! Crumble sounds good especially with the fresh blackberries
I hate to admit it but I ooooh'd and aaaah'd more this afternoon, over the thought of your blackberry and apple crumble than your run! Tomorrow morning I will feel like admiring the hedgerows
Yum blackberry and apple sounds delicious! I forgot to take my watch one morning and at first I felt a bit lost not knowing how far or how long I was running, but like you I decided to just run and not worry about it. Turned out to be a nice run too. Maybe we should run without gadgets once in a while.
Sounds fabulous! I agree we can become slaves to our gadgets and the information they feed us which leads on to getting hung up cos you were slower than last time etc.... Think I might do a non gadget run plus no music although the silence makes me aware of my gasping breath and plodding feet!
Oh my gosh - totally off topic (sorry) just seen your name farawaytree74 and got whisked straight back to my childhood, and reading The Faraway Tree! One of my favourite ever books when 'I were a nipper'. Okay back to the gadgets and blackberrys
My fave book too! Remember Moonface, Silky and Saucepan Man sliding down the tree on cushions? Ooh it didn't take much to entertain me as a kid. Good to veer off running sometimes to talk about blackberries and Enid Blyton! π
And Dame washalot! And the land of Do-what-you-please. Memories......
They've changed the books now, all abridged to make them PC. A real shame
Oooh all round to yours, Sandra ! Just the ticket with a nice cuppa tea
That sounds such a lovely run , and yes I agree , we can become slaves to our watches. Once my training is over I am giving my Garmin a well earned rest , with me along with it !
Autumn is on its way, fab . Love it xxx
Lovely image you portray. Am looking forward to the Autumn, love the feeling of those mornings. Sounds like a wonderful run Enjoy the crumble - yum
That sounds nice sandra! When i forgot my Garmin on th HM the other week it was strange but quite refreshing in some ways too! Rhough i missed looking at the stats after and the route.!
Ooh crumble thats a good idea. Sounds like it will be crumble night for lots of us soon! I have a bit of rhubarb nearly ready!π
That sounds so perfect, and a blessing that your Garmin didn't work!!!
