W7R1 made me cry

I laid in bed umming and arring shall I go today or leave till Wednesday to let my legs recover from Saturdays W6R3....so I jumped out of bed and decided to go. It was very hot and humid not much shade and a slight breeze, first 5 mins were tough but I soon got settled until the last five minutes. My legs were so tired, my bum cheeks ached and 2 mins to go I started to cry, It was so hard to push through the aching legs and tiredness but I did. Now 3 hours on my legs ache and feel so heavy, I plan to leave 2 days in between to aid my recovery now as I dont think I can cope yet with running every 2nd day. I feel so proud of my achievement and am grateful for all your support and valued advise.

Well done you did it you proved to yourself that you could the heat and humidity will not have helped but if do the stretches and take two days or longer if you have to you will be able to the next run I would keep an look at the weather later in the week and plan your runs accordingly

But you did it!! I always have one two day break in a week, recently - due to external events sometimes 3 or 4 - , and always feel better for it when I run again. Keep going and enjoy your rest days.

Well done in getting there :-) don't forget to do some stretching before and after your runs - hopefully that will ease your legs a little. Well done again :-D

Get yourself a tub of Epsom Salts from the pet shop/garden centre and use that to soak your aching body. Two teacupfuls into a running bath. Few drops of tea tree oil too, if you have it. You can have an extra day's rest to help you recover from the tough session. No worries about that at all. Take it if you need it. No rush!

You pushed through and finished the job, which is a good thing! Accentuate the positive! Ok, so not all runs are marvellous. Some go badly, but we put those behind us and move on, hopefully with a positive mind set. Put a smile across your face and go ......

Let us know how it goes x

What a great achievement, I think you are doing the right thing have 2 days rest, then you'll be raring to go again. 😀

It's fantastic to complete a really tough run like that and the heat is a killer but everyone's right, take 2 days rest and you will be amazed how your body recovers. Remember this is a completed run so you are an achiever !!

Week 7 run 1 - fantastic! And in this heat? Like misswobble said, a nice soak in Epsom salts and a couple of days resting those tired legs and you'll be upandatem again. (and I cried through EVERY run on week ONE)! ;)

Oh wow! You did it and that's amazing especially when it was so tough and hot and humid. So pleased for you and you should be proud. I like a couple of rest days in between especially after a tough run. I am on W7 R1 tomorrow and when I am finding it tough I will remember that you did this and so I can too :-) Thanks for the post......
