...especially as my leg had ached a little bit in the night, but down to a problem with the gel insoles in my hiking boot yesterday - not quite trimmed to size.
So I put on my long compression socks and set off. No problem with my leg although I wasn't quite happy with my run until Laura said I had done 5 minutes, then it was fine. I ran a bit slower than usual I think but kept it steady and it went well.
I tracked the route on the fitbit app on my phone. A bit odd as is showed I ran a straight line from the transmitter mast to the point I finished the 5 minute warm up. (presumably leaping over garden fences and possibly through the front door and out of the back door of some houses that got in my way!) I assume that it took that long to find my location - I don't switch it one very often. But no matter, it tracked the run and confirmed what I had worked out while I was going round this morning - the mown tracks on the meadow form a four-leaved clover!
It claimed 4.03 km for the whole session - my pedometer said 4.63, which included having to go upstairs to get my sunglasses before I started! So not wildly out, I did calibrate the pedometer against 5 x 100m markers yesterday while I was out for a walk and found it is measuring very slightly less than it should.
So in the end it was a good run.

Oh my gosh, how close are you now! I love the four leaf clover in the meadow and now have a picture in my head of you vaulting fences and saying "sorry, just passing through" as you run through people's front door and out the back, while they stare, with their cornflakes halfway to their mouth! Great run
And Billy Elliott 😀 Great run. We are still in tandem. I should be out for week 8 run 3 tomorrow morning. Tempted to set an early alarm as I think it might be hot again tomorrow. I love the four leaf clover - needs someone with a drone to take a photo. 😀
