Not a radio 4 person but will be watching Mo Farah on Thursday might inspire me for Friday graduation
I like Mo Farah and I'm sure you'll smash your graduation run (looking forward to the speech). It was a bloke who at 54ish was grossly overweight and walking with a stick, who had inflammatory arthritis and was on loads of meds and now - at 60 - runs ultra marathons. Not bad. He took 18 months from starting running to his first marathon so maybe I'll adopt that as a timescale!!

We chatted about him while I was out with running club. 9 very hot, sticky unflat (!) Kms. We all agreed he was inspirational, if a little mad. Would never have believed I could run and chat a year ago, never mind be brave enough to run in a group of 'proper runners'. 😄

HURRAH! - It is saved on the BBC Radio Iplayer. I'm recording it now so I can listen to it later Thank you for posting that it was on
Pleasure - it's only brief and he's very softly spoken so I almost missed it! I just love hearing stories of overcoming adversity. Enjoy
It was fascinating to hear his story! I just wish they had dedicated more time to it
It was, wasn't it, and I particularly liked the fact that he accepted the responsibility for his earlier lifestyle choices. (That's Saturday morning magazine radio for you! - the brevity of the item)
