Week 7 Run 3

Tosay seemed the hardest run of them all! I was surprised as I've managed the other three 25 minutes (one at the end of W6) quite well. It went downhill at around the half way mark when I had a pain in my stomach, like a stitch but a bit sharper! Stopped for a minute or so then kept running but it was really hard!

I'm still going to move on to Week 8 though :)

Maybe you were running a little faster than the other times? I get a stitch sometimes when I drink too much water beforehand or if I don't leave long enough for food to digest. One way to deal with a stitch is, as Laura says, deep breaths pushing your tummy out. It does work. Well done on the run!

That's what I said to my friend that I run with. She agreed that this time was harder. (Though she'd given blood earlier in the week so at least she had an excuse!) Thanks for the advice about breathing will give it a try next time :)

Snap! I had exactly the same experience on Thursday. Can't for the life of me work out what went wrong with r3, but I've moved on and it's just a distant memory now. W8r1 this morning was 10 times better. Good luck, Steve.

Thanks Steve. Hopefully it was just a fluke and my first run of week 8 will go as smoothly as yours :D
