Hello all, tonight was 1st run since Newham 10k,managed a 4K n way home, nice rain shower to cool me down at the start but got warm towards the end.
Had intended to run all the way home but was overheating and think feeling legs after an 18 mile walk on Sunday in preparation for Shine night walk marathon for Cancer Research.
Off to Nuclear Races fun day on Saturday so lots of muddy fun to be had.
Ran via Olympic Park again tonight.....bit quieter than it was 4 years ago tonight for Olympic opening ceremony

Wow! - just now you reminded me of something that had completely slipped my memory!
In 2010 we were at the 'Bird's Nest' in Beijing. My oldest daughter REALLY wanted to run around the Track - they let people do that most afternoons for an hour or so. There were HOURS to go before that though and I really could not understand why she was willing to wait (and hav me hang around) for so long just to run a track that 'really doesn't mean all that much now'. Unfortunately she did not get to do it after all - too much rain led to the Track being closed that day.
But NOW comes the understanding of what she wanted to experience - and so do I
I'm thinking another trip to China and the 'Bird's Nest' would be a nice present for her when she finishes University - and for me also because I will run with her
Meant absolutely nothing to me back then, could not understand why my Daughter wanted to 'waste' a morning even going there - but MAN DO I WANT TO GO BACK NOW! I will get a tee shirt made afterwards that says 'Yes I DID run in the Beijing 'Birds Nest' in BIG letters and underneath in tiny letters 'just not THAT year '
Running is turning out to be so much more life-affirming than I ever would have imagined
