3K was such hard work

3K was such hard work

Just back from a few days in the Peak District to celebrate Kev's (hubby) 50th Birthday.

Stayed in a lovely pub in Ashbourne thanks to recommendation from a lovely C25K beyonder.

2 days of lots of walking with the odd hill climbed, but so wanted to run in the lovely countryside so today we set off to do 5-6k along the Tissington Trail.

Well we managed about 3k in total, both so tired, legs felt heavy all that walking and doing Nuclear Blast 5k on Saturday had taken more out of us than we thought.

Tea party with nieces and nephew tonight before heading back to London tomorrow.

Another run is planned for Friday and longer run on Sunday as we start preparing for half marathon we are running in March.

Have a great evening all and happy running 😊

  • Yeay!!! Go you... I just shared a Tissington Trail run with Anniemurph a while back!

Glad you had a great time !

  • Thanks

Want to go back and do more of the trail

  • It is beautiful...I am about 40 mins or so away from there...I intend doing a few more runs there too :) x

  • Yesterday we walked along Monsal Trail from Hassop to Monsal Head then along Cromford canal and Monday went to Ilam and walked and climbed Thorpe Cloud at Dovedale

So many beautiful things to do and see

  • I agree it's fab

  • I'm in Derbyshire and not run the TT yet. I've walked it though

I want to run through the tunnels 🙂

  • Exciting... :)

  • There's only one beastly tunnel on the TT, and that's right at the bottom end. If you want tunnels, I think it's the Monsal that has them. The High Peak has a couple towards the Matlock end, I think, as well. Bah!

  • We did the Headstone Tunnel then climbed up to Monsal Head gorgeous view of the Viaduct and River Wye

Tissington Tunnel is short in comparison and running down is definitely easier

  • Oh yes miss wobble I would too .I walked through them a couple of weeks ago loved the trail we walked for ages

  • So much fun

And still loads left to do

    Need to plan another trip

  • I've been to peak district today ,there was a light rain but it was enjoyable. It's only a hr away from us in car, I go regular hiking round there .

  • Do it we walked part of Monsal Trail and went through Headstone Tunnel to the Viaduct then climbed up to Monsal Head

    Stunning views

  • Yes we walked through them miss wobble a few week back . Had a lovely walk that day round there

  • I'm so glad you had a great time! It was fab to meet you - well spotted! :)

  • Definitely great to see you x

  • Don't you fancy em then Murph? Me and thee this winter 😁

  • Tunnels scare me :( I'm not too bad if I'm with someone, and there aren't any rotten sound effects.

  • Sound effects off yesterday

Now back home.....time to plan my next holiday 😘

  • Sound effects were off today as well, luckily, as there was no one else around!

    Happy planning!

  • Sounds perfect and what fab pics too :)

  • Thanks was beautiful

    Took so many photos

  • I love that area . Sounds like you had a great time

  • Beautiful

Even found my great grandparents house for 100 years ago in Ashbourne

Need to go back as still so many places we want to visit

  • Sound effects? Wassat then? 🤔

  • Tissington Tunnel has sound effect, think of train passing through the tunnel
