I have been trying to spread the joy of running to my two sons (12 and 15) for quite a while now. They are both proud of what I have achieved since I started this program, and hi-fiving them as I ran around the Great Bristol 10K a couple of months ago was a very special moment for me. π We did a little running together last summer but their enthusiasm did not really match mine unfortunately! π© Anyway, today we all went out again and ran Week 3 together to find a good starting point for them both, as they now want to give C25K another go! (Yippee!). My eldest cruised it and needs to be challenged more, whilst my youngest was about right for Week 3. He has very little confidence in himself sports-wise, and I know this program could be a really good thing for him. It was lovely running with them out on my favourite bridleways and I will be back out there again later today or tomorrow, for my own run. Just wanted to share this with folk really! Fingers crossed that today's enthusiasm continues! I would love us to do parkrun together one day! ππ»π

That's great news Sandra.
But it wouldn't have anything to do with hatching Pokemon Go characters, would it??
Brilliant... a case of the family that run together..have fun together
Sounds wonderful!
Excellent! My girls (12 & 14) both wanted to do the Glow in the Park run with me this autumn, so I entered the three of us - on the condition that they do both do some running beforehand! 12-y-o can easily start at week 5, as she's very active and pretty fit; 14-y-o on the other hand has done week 1 a few times and found it pretty tough going... I've warned them both it's only 2 months away now, so they need to get started! Mean mummy!
Oh, good luck with your two! I am also trying to get my two interested in a Night Fright run during October half term! 5k through woodland at night with head torches and a few ghouls for company!! What's not to love!!π ..fancy dress optional !
Now that sounds really good!
My 10 year old daughter has joined me for my last 2 runs and loved it. We did W7 r3 and w8 r1. I was so impressed by her energy and enthusiasm and best of all she wants to keep at it so I'm hoping this will be something we can do together for years to come ππ
That's great Sandra!ππmy best pal Tracy does parkrun now after her husband and 3 kids took it up,she on 70 now!(parkrun not age!) Its nice to be able to go do stuff together! Sounds like a brilliant start!πx
Thanks Ali. Wow! 70 park runs! I also went out for a 5.5k trail run this afternoon. With the exception of one path which was almost impassable with nettles and brambles (next time I will take a 'beating'stick with me!) - it was the best run I've had in a few weeks. It definately felt much less humid out today! What a reliefπ!
It's raining here! !! πI'm still feeling really tired, missed run club last night..... Got a little bit of a lurgy I think so having extra test til tomorrow at least. Got "Dash and splash"beach run on Saturday x
Fantastic to read as I have an unhelpful 13 year old who pants as I walk past.....as a joke you understand.,....,not funny!
