Weeks 5-6 and the gadget

I made it through week 5, run 3 was a killer tho. I told hubby that run 3 would be Saturday night, it was too hot and humid but at 8.30 he wouldn't let me give in and not go. I didn't enjoy it and found myself wondering why was I doing this and how far was I running.

Week 6, I purchased a used Garmin Forerunner 10 off Ebay less than half price!! Tuesday's run felt good, forgot to turn the gadget on, Thurday's run measured 2.5 miles!!

I was going to run Saturday night but it was too hot even at 9pm, so got up at 7 this morning and off we went running for a whole 25 minutes.

I was struggling at one point I'm sure the mind reader Laura said slow down don't push too hard, I even managed to speed up for the last 50 seconds, and the gadget said 2.85 miles converted it and it's....... 4.58 km!!!!

I can't believe it almost 5k after 6 weeks - we're even talking of different routes to run!!

The gadget was worth every penny I'm not sure how to work it properly but it measured what I wanted, gave me a lift and made me feel like a proper runner!!

That has cheered me no end as I've just ordered a pre loved garmin f10. Sounds like you're going to breeze week seven and wow what a distance. You must be over the moon :) Enjoy week 7...

Wow, that's speedy! The running watches are soon addictive - you won't be able to run without it!!

You can change the way the F10 displays the distance by logging in to Garmin Express and then syncing it.

I need to have a proper play with it and see what it can really do!

It has taken me some time but I have found that Strava suits all my needs including recording my heart rate via a Polar H7 HRM chest strap. It interesting looking a the data afterwards.

My HR is around the 60 mark at rest 75 when out walking and between 145-155 when actually running.
