Just being nosy :-). Mine is a teaspoon of peanut butter and maybe an apple if I am feeling the munchies.

I spread peanut butter on apple slices or banana slices. Or sometimes I have a handful of mixed nuts 😇. I managed 7.5 k last Sunday so had a glass of red wine to aid recovery .. probably not really the best recovery snack. I live and learn😏

I had half a banana after the first few runs but I soon got bored with that.I now alternate between a handful of dried fruit or a mixed handful of nuts and seeds or an apple.I've never tried peanut butter but think I might just buy a jar the next time I go shopping,

I usually run before dinner or, every once in a while, before breakfast therefore I never have post-run snacks.

I also find that running suppresses my appetite for a while (a couple of hours or so) so I don't really feel the need of a snack.

Whoops - what happened there? Wanted to say same as secan - I don't really need a snack when I get back. Normally breakfast will be my snack!

Like secan , I always run before breakfast... so I just have my breakfast after post run stretches and shower.

Mostly I don't need anything but if I do I go for mashed avocado on 1 slice of whole meal toast, although yesterday I found a nana that needed eating so had that on the toast instead. Or crumpets and marmite, no butter.

I'm another who runs before breakfast, so I just have my breakfast after I get back which is just a Greek yoghurt. When I used to run in the evenings, I found running repressed my appetite and I could just manage a small salad when I got back (what would fit on a bread plate). Maybe I'm not yet running the kind of distances which get your appetite up. I do drink about 3 glasses of water not long after getting back. Seem to be more thirsty than hungry. If I felt hungry, I'd have some Fin-Crisp crackers with cheese or sliced meat with mustard.

I prefer almond butter, all I can get on a teaspoon 😊with a sliced crunchy red apple to dip in. Gert lush

Thanks all - what's with all this 'NEED to eat' though? Who mentioned 'NEEDing'? The post-run food for me is the treat!.

Sometimes that is the only thing that keeps me going is that thought of that lovely peanut butter :-).

I think I am amongst people with far greater discipline than I :-).

Chocolate milk every time. It's the best post run fuel according to Runners World.

Wish running suppressed my appetite, I nearly always feel starving about half an hour after a run. I like peanut butter too but usually have it for breakfast on toast. I try to stick to fruit when I get back. Try being the word😉. I am timimg my runs so that I am soon eating a meal when I get back to avoid the extra snack. Mixed results!
