Injury Couch blues

I'm really bored now with hobbling around, I'm doing the exercises the doctor gave me but I seem to be getting no where fast. I had to do a bit of walking around yesterday and I felt more tired than I did running for 30 minutes. I looked in the mirror at my knees last night and the left one was visibly swollen. I might have to give in and have some days off next week if things don't improve. That won't go down too well at work as my old boss has just retired and we have a new guy in charge, I can't remember the last time I was off work.

It's horrible being on the IC (I was on recently for over 11 weeks) but the running will still be there when you are ready. Hopefully, this running is a life style change and therefore you need to get used to being injured because ........ well, because you're a runner!

Can you carry on with some upper body exercises and workouts? Just google and you'll get loads of ideas. Use the time productively to work on those weaker areas and you'll be much stronger when you do return.

Keep doing the exercises the doctors has given you and don't worry about work. Your health is more important.

Sorry to hear youre having a tough time , Plop.

Injuries are a nightmare to be honest, its very frustrating to be on the IC when all you want to do is get out there and run.

You will come back from this, hope your recovery is a speedy one xxx

Vino always helps! I totally sympathise and am only on week 2 of IC. I have had to cancel some work engagements and find mornings particularly difficult until my damaged tendons get warmed up. Never thought I would miss something I found so difficult six months ago!

Hope you recover soon. Can understand you feel fed up on IC. can you do some core strengthening to help your running later?

Not what you're looking for?
