Thank you all so much!!! Thanks to this forum I just graduated the Couch to 5k! Now I know how an Oscar acceptance speech ends up so long winded! I 100% know I wouldn't have stuck at it without the forum and all of you here; the help, advice, encouragement and inspiration. Sounding cliched now, but it's all true!!
Not only did I complete the third 30 minute run tonight but for some reason I was determined to hit that 5k! Previous to today my 30 minute runs had only been 3.5ish k so I thought it would be a few weeks til I hit 5k but I stepped up the pace from the start, carried on and did it in 39.20. The last 500 metres I ran out of path to run on so had to turn back and run against 25mph winds along the seafront which was possibly the hardest thing I've ever done! I did it!!!
Then the realisation hit that I was 3k from home so had to walk all the way back against the wind. Luckily as Laura had already said goodbye I put my own music on and Born to Run was the first one that played. Very appropriate!!
Once more thank you all (and of course the lovely Laura) for helping me reach probably the biggest achievement in my life so far! You'll be hearing more from me from here I'm afraid

That's absolutely brilliant! What a fantastic achievement! Your post has taken me straight back to the euphoria I felt when I graduated, so thanks for that.
Keep up the good work, and remember to ask for your shiny badge ππ»π
ππΎπ massive congratulations on acing it! Graduation and 5k in one go. You're tough. I hope you will keep posting about your postgrad running wherever it takes you.
A massive well done you did it and hit the 5 k mark as well. It is a great feeling enjoy. I have already peeked at the Bridge to 10 k forum just to see what the big boys ate doing but I don't know if 10k is on the cards
That's brilliant melly4012 . This forum helped, I'm sure, but you did the hard work. You graduated primarily because you kept making the decision to try :-).
Amazing well done what a feeling that must be, just think from 60 seconds running to 30 mins running it just doesn't seem possible st the start and here you are at the begining of your running lofe
Wow melly4012 ! You graduated in style!! Sounds like you really enjoyed it, as you should. Quite rightly you should take a bow. Well done πΎππΌπ
