Ouch, my poor feet!

โ€ข7 Replies

Managed W7R1 yesterday morning then myself, husband, son and daughter in law visited the National Coalmining Museum at Caphouse Colliery. We did the underground tour which was a marvellous experience then had a picnic before heading home. Today I've been gardening, cleaning the patio, basically on my feet all day. I'm a bit worried that my poor old trotters might be a tad sore even before run 2 tomorrow. I like to soak them in Epsom Salts which keeps them lovely and soft but does anyone have any advice on toughening the feet or does everyone grin and bear it, especially in this hot weather? ๐Ÿ˜•

I know MissWobble and others use Epsom salt baths to ease aches and pains. I can't as we don't have a bath in the house๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜€. I don't think you need to toughen up your feet, I think the best bet is good cushioning (running or other sports) socks. Are your running shoes also cushioning/supporting your feet?

Best wishes for a good next run.

I haven't noticed any real problems with my feet when running even though if I am on my feet all day I wish I could learn to levitate! If your running shoes fit properly and have enough lovely squidgy cushioning and your socks are well fitting (the double layered 'blister preventing' type are excellent) you should be ok. Maybe get your gait analysed and make sure your shoes are right for you. Good luck and keep going ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ

The wife and I never have a problem with our feet. Running shoes should be at least a half size bigger than your normal shoe size, as feet expand with running, and they need to be the correct width, would recommend gait analysis & fitting, also use double layer socks to prevent blisters.. don't suffer!๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you all for your comments and advice. My running shoes and socks are well cushioned. I've always had problems with soreness /blisters even with shoes I've had for ages. I think it's more to do with the weather at the moment. Must put feet up for a bit! I really want to have gait analysis when I'm ready for new running shoes though. Anyway, W7R2 is my goal for tomorrow and I'll think about the pain afterwards (if there is any) ! ๐Ÿ˜

You can always take an extra day off โ˜บ

Thought about it but decided to go for it this morning and guess what? No problem! Apart from sweating so much and looking like a beetroot that was about to explode, lol. Just realised I'm only 7 runs away from graduation -unbelievable! !!
