Can anyone tell me the best Couch25k app to use? There seem to be a few: some free and others not. I've downloaded the NHS version which has Sarah Millican as one of the voices but I can't download the one with Laura on..... Thanks

Finding Laura!?!
Hi! Laura used to be on the NHS C25K app, but can now only be found on the podcasts:
nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/...
Edit: The old app with Laura seems to be available on Android at least. I think it's a bit flaky though:
It is there but really far down. I'll see if I can send a link
The best app is not an app at all but the podcasts (link provided by roseabi). It is more reliable and you just start up and go instead of fussing around making playlists as a diversionary tactic (what suits you for running may well not be the same as the music you like generally... and if you don't like the podcast music, all the more reason to push on and complete that run so you don't have to do it more times than strictly necessary!)
But essentially it *is* the NHS one in some shape or form (including the app you've got) that almost everyone on this forum will be talking about. There are other C25K presentations as you're aware and some are shorter, and/or not free.
The podcasts for me are so much better than any of the apps I could find. They are silent so u can play your own music but I found expecially with the NHS choices one that the sound was so low I couldn't hear when to change from running to walking n it got frustrating so stopped music then it just felt weird running in silence with some disembodied voice every now n again.
The podcasts have their own music, it's not great but it keeps u moving n Laura is great at motivating. It's got me through so far.
Just done my first longer run at 20mins n switched to my own music a little Sia put Unstoppable on a couple of times lol It seemed to work well as I set my timer knowing it was just one run so need to stop n start but I did miss Laura's motivation n encouragement.
Hi, I tried a couple of different apps where I could play my own music through first, but they would cut out mid-run, then I would spend 5 mins being even more distracted trying to sort the darned thing! I downloaded the podcasts in week 2 and have no problems with them cutting out as they don't rely on any kind of signal, then I have mapmyrun also running in the back ground which gives me a pretty little map and timer etc to look back at and smile when I'm hanging over my banana back at home 😀 Laura's choice of music is awful but her talking really does encourage me, and she doesn't seem to mind what you say back to her! Good luck .
Brill. Thank you all for the advice. I've no excuse not to make a start now!!
