Playing music through the Couch to 5K app (iOS)

Hi all,

Sorry if I'm being dense, but I cannot figure out how to make music play while I'm using the Couch to 5K app on my iPhone 4S. I see there is a music button just next to the fast-forward button, but I cannot figure out how to play music. I also can't find any instructions to help.

Does anyone know how to make it work? Any advice would be much appreciated!

hi - when I click on the music button next to the fast forward button, I get 4 options - Play, Pause, Stop and Select. if I click on select, it goes into my itunes and lets me pick a playlist. Do you have itunes on your phone? Maybe that's the issue?

Hmm. My 'music' button next to fast-forward doesn't do anything at all. When you say iTunes app, do you mean iTunes U or something? I have the standard music app and the iTunes Store. Although I'm on iOS 7, so perhaps it only works with the new music app..?

Start your music in the usual way before opening the app, the app will then just talk over the music when it needs to.

Thanks, but when I do that as soon as the 'trainer' starts speaking the music stops and doesn't start again.

Ah ok, I never had that problem (using a 4s but early last year and therefore presumably on an earlier version of iOS and maybe an earlier version of the app.

Have a check but I think it just pauses (it did on mine anyway). Do you have the iphone earphones too? When the music doesn't start up again, just press the middle button on your little remote thing to unpause it.

Thanks for the tip. I don't use iPhone headphones, but I think I have some around the place somewhere, and will give that a try.
